What is Queer Meet?

Queer Meet is a structured, low-pressure event designed for LGBTQIA+ folks to connect through short, one-on-one conversations. Whether you’re seeking friendship, community, romance, or just a great chat, it’s a space to show up as yourself.

Who is this event for?

Anyone who identifies under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella is welcome. This space is created by and for queer people, age 21+. All identities, orientations, and expressions are valid here.

Why is there a $20 fee to attend?

The $20 ticket helps cover the cost of reserving the venue for a private event. This ensures the space is secured exclusively for Queer Meet participants and the evening.

How does it work?

You’ll be paired with matched participants for a series of short, one-on-one conversations. Conversation prompts will be on the tables to help break the ice, if needed.

What happens after each conversation?

After each conversation, you’ll privately mark on your form whether you’d like to connect again for friendship, romance, or something in between. At the end, we collect the forms and only mutual matches are shared.

I’m introverted, neurodivergent, or anxious… will this work for me?

Absolutely. Queer Meet is designed with care and structure so you’ll never be put on the spot. Conversation prompts will be on the tables if you’d like them, and you’re always welcome to take breaks. There’s room here for everyone.

Is there a required form to fill out?

Yes. After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive a link to a short form. It helps us understand your preferences and what you’re looking for, friendship, community, or romance, so we can make thoughtful matches. Please complete it before the event, as your participation depends on it.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, but each person must purchase their own ticket and fill out their own form. You’ll meet new people, but bringing a friend can be a great way to ease into the experience.

What if I don’t feel a connection with anyone?

That’s totally okay. There’s no pressure to match. This is a chance to be present, have conversations, and maybe walk away with a renewed sense of community.

What if I see someone at the event that I’d like to talk with, but we’re not matched?

You’ll have time to mingle before the event begins and during breaks. If you’d like a chance to connect outside the scheduled matches, just let the event coordinator know and we will make it happen.

Will there be time to mingle or take breaks?

Yes. There will be a short break halfway through, and space to breathe between conversations. You’ll also have time before and after the event to relax, grab a drink, or connect casually with others. Refreshments will be available for purchase. There will be an opportunity to grab something to eat or drink 30 minutes before the event begins, as well as during the event break.
